Judith Phelps trained and performed as a modern dancer before starting to study Argentine Tango. She has studied
with a number of respected teachers in New York and Buenos Aires including Daniel Trenner, Rebecca Schulman, Brigitta
Winkler, Erik Jeurissen, Carlos Gavito and Luciana Valle. She currently teaches tango classes at Yale University, Ballroom
Experience studio and does private classes. Her emphasis is on clear communication between the leader and the follower
to create elegant and smooth dancing on the dance floor that is both passionate and fun. Judy has been
studying, teaching, running Milongas and guided practicas for the past 15 years. She has been a stable leader in the
growing of an Argentine Tango Community. She loves working with beginners in order to introduce them to the exciting
world of Argentine Tango. Judy also enjoys working with intermediate and advanced dancers who want to be the best they
can become. She specializes in an authentic traditional Argentine Tango foundation for a life time of pleasure of social
dancing. She also trains individuals who show an interest in performing in showcases.
July has recently returned from Buenos Aires, Argentine where she studied and danced at many exciting workshops and
Milongas. She is anxious to pass on her experience to her students.
